Salad Bar: Snack for a Beginner Triathlete

I am currently training as a triathlete. I became conscious on what I eat every single day. I don’t go on a diet but I am too picky with what I eat. As what my fitness coach told me, training for a triathlon is easier than we might think even if we have currently zero fitness. In just a span of three months you can be ready to do your first triathlon. It doesn’t require going to the gym to make it happen.

Cutting down sugars, drinking water or green tea, quit on eating junkfoods and a proper sleep makes it a balanced diet. Recently I visited a salad bar in Glorietta, Makati. Yes it’s a salad bar indeed with lots of fruits options for your daily diet.

Eating salads is a super-convenient way to work in a couple of servings of vegetables and/or fruit.

Salad bar offers a wide range of fruits and vegetables that you can choose with. This includes lettuce, mushrooms, strawberries, mangoes, lychees, honeydew, watermelon and many more. A 100 grams of salad cost 30 pesos. Yes, a 30 pesos that is packed with nutrients.

To enjoy most about the salad bar, you can do the following steps to creatively create your own salad.

  1. Pick a base.
  2. Add extra greenery
  3. Add a pop of color
  4. Mix in healthy extras.
  5. Power up with add-ons
  6. Don’t forget to dress it up.

For their dressings, they have Caesar, thousand island, vina grett, asian, sesame, honey mustard, cranberry sauce and garlic ranch. You can also add some parmesan cheese to fully enjoy the salad.

Most people enjoy eating salads–even kids! You can customize them to include the fruits and vegetables that appeal to you the most, and whichever ones you have on hand.
