Many of us have a deep desire to travel. Once the travel bug bites, your wanderlust starts drafting a huge bucket list of new places to explore. Last weekend, I crossed off one of mine: a Baguio motorbike tour, and it was one of the craziest and most fun adventures I’ve had.
Baguio City has always been my comfort zone whenever I feel down, stressed, or in need of time to relax. Touring it by motorbike had always been on my bucket list, but I never had the chance because I was afraid of driving along steep slopes. This time, I finally did it.

The Long Ride to Baguio
I was supposed to travel with a friend on Friday night, but I got caught up with work and had to meet people on Saturday afternoon. It was a long trip, and I only reached the hotel at 2:30 in the morning.

Where We Stayed: Holiday Inn Baguio
We woke up around eight for the buffet breakfast at Holiday Inn Baguio, excited to start our motorbike tour. Thank you, Holiday Inn Baguio, for having us!

This isn’t my plate. LOL. I eat rice and heavy meals at breakfast, so my own plating wasn’t pretty enough to share.
Motorbike Rental in Baguio: Autobarts
After breakfast, we went to Autobarts, where we rented our motorcycle. The rate was only Php500 (about 9.5 USD) for 24 hours. With a full day of freedom, we toured around and soaked in every scene we passed.

Peace out, y’all!
The stunning views kicked out my stress and reminded me how beautiful the world we live in is.
The Police Encounter
One memory of Baguio I’ll never forget is the time we nearly broke a traffic rule and got stopped by a police officer. I won’t go into the details, but we were so nervous and scared. After I calmly talked to the officer and sorted things out, I felt so relieved. We drove off and laughed about it afterward.

The Lion’s Head is the reason we got caught. LOL.
Travel tip: I don’t recommend relying on Google Maps when touring Baguio. It can give you unwanted directions. It’s better to ask the locals.

Why You Should Tour Baguio by Motorbike
We meet new people every day, but not all of them create memories with us. I’m thankful to my friend for letting me experience this kind of tour. Here’s what I took away from it:
- Discover hidden spots. A motorbike takes you to places you would probably have missed.
- Enjoy the adventure. Something unexpected happens around every turn.
- Meet the locals. Asking for directions leads to the best recommendations.
- Own your time. There are no schedules or tour groups.
- Get lost on purpose. With no itinerary, getting lost is the best thing that can happen.
This weekend goes on my list of most memorable trips. If you’re planning a Baguio City getaway, a motorbike tour is a great way to see the city at your own pace.
