For the past two years, I’ve yearned to explore beyond my hometown. When Boracay reopened to tourists, I finally booked a flight, marking my first visit to this renowned destination. Originally scheduled for March 17, 2020, just days after the Philippines entered lockdown, my plans were postponed due to the pandemic, which left me dreaming of spending the entire lockdown on this captivating island.
There was a man standing beside my bed telling me to get up. I woke up to the noises as usual, but instead of finding nothing there, I saw a terribly gruesome figure. It seemed like it had been human at some point. I can only see the built of his body and how it is in good shape. I peak through my blanket to see his face but a whole bolt of fear covered me up when I saw only a shadow of a man dragging me to get up. My sweat dripped down my forehead and my heart was thumping hard at my chest. I was always afraid of the dark and I still am.
From the group of islands in the Pacific, there lies a famous long stretch of white sand beach. Blessed with beautiful coastline, surrounded by turquoise seas and rolling hills of grasslands – this is Calaguas Island.
“Piliin mo ang Pilipinas
Kapuluang kwintas ng perlas
Piliin mo yakapin mo
Kayamanan nyang likas
Piliin mo ang Pilipinas”
I was singing this song all day when I laid my eyes on this beautiful creation–Manjuyod White Sands Bar.
A group of bloggers invited me to join them in exploring Camarines Norte. It was an unforgettable and fulfilling experience. Exploring a new place gives you a good vibe–learning their culture, exploring unknown spots and meeting the locals.
